Makassar, 14 September 2025 — Golden Gate School Makassar once again demonstrated its dedication to nurturing high-achieving students through its outstanding performance at the 2025 Senior High School Olympiad (SHSO), organized by the Indonesian Science Olympiad Center (POSI). This provincial-level competition, held at SMPN 6 Makassar, brought together hundreds of top-performing students from various schools across South Sulawesi.
SHSO 2025 showcased intense competition across multiple academic subjects, including Mathematics, Biology, Civics, English, and several other fields. The event was dynamic and full of enthusiasm, providing a platform for participants to showcase their strongest academic abilities.
In this year’s competition, students from Golden Gate School Makassar earned two medals in the Biology category:
- Veisha Ailene Djauhari (Grade 11) — Silver Medal
- Livia Valencia The (Grade 10) — Bronze Medal
Both students were coached by Muhammad Richsan Yamin, S.Pd., M.Sc., a Biology teacher and the Principal of Golden Gate School Makassar, who has been actively fostering a culture of research and academic excellence within the school.
In his statement, Richsan expressed his highest appreciation for the students’ dedication and courage in taking on the challenge and delivering their best performance.
“Competitions do more than guide students toward victory; they create opportunities for growth, help them discover their potential, and encourage them to make a positive social impact,” he remarked.
Golden Gate School Makassar continues to provide full support for all students who wish to develop themselves through academic and non-academic competitions. Every participant is given equal opportunities, accompanied by mentoring teachers and additional learning facilities designed to help them achieve their optimal performance.
For Golden Gate School Makassar, participating in competitions such as POSI is not solely about winning medals or awards. It is part of the school’s commitment to shaping students’ character through courage in facing challenges, disciplined learning, critical thinking skills, and meaningful experiences that prepare them for the future.
The achievements earned at SHSO 2025 further strengthen Golden Gate School Makassar’s position as a school that consistently produces outstanding students who are ready to compete at higher levels.
